Ch1-3 Heskett

“The human factor is present in decisions taken at all levels in design practice.”
“Design matters because, with language, it is a defining characteristic of what it is to be human, which puts it on a level far beyond trivial.”
Chapter one works on defining what design is and what it takes in to effect. That’s why I choose these to quotes to represent the idea the design is for human interaction.
Chapter two was still about the human factor but manly the evolution of how design came to be.
Chapter three the big thing is “form follows function” which means one must have a use for an object before it can be design and built. Culture plays an effect on design. A design one place may not mean the same thing in another place.
Design is to help improve life for everyone not just for individuals.
